Sam Lavery funny celebrant Melbourne

Some common questions from couples.

  1. Is this your full time job? You bet it is. This is all I do! I have been full time in the marriage game since 2019 and in that time I have performed hundreds of weddings.

  2. Do you have your own PA system? Sure do, its a great one also, battery powered, so it can be used anywhere. You are also more than welcome to use it for your ceremony music :)

  3. Do you MC weddings? I do indeed, this is an additional service. I approach this similarly to my ceremonies. I make it personal, entertaining and essentially keep the night moving in the right direction! (no drunk uncles cracking bad jokes here)

  4. Can you help with our personalised vows? You bet I can, I have seen some awesome examples and you are more than welcome to bounce ideas off me, its part of the service.

  5. Do you conduct same sex ceremonies? Its crazy people still ask this, but yes, I marry everyone and anyone. I have conducted many same sex ceremonies over the years.

  6. Do you take care of all legal documentation and paperwork? Absolutely, one of my jobs as your celebrant is to do this. This all happens in the background so you can concentrate on the big things like planning an awesome honeymoon!

  7. Do you take care of name changes? That I do not, in fact legally the person changing their name has to do this, however I do recommend a service called Easy Name Change, they really streamline what can be an annoying process. Here is a link to their website EASYNAMECHANGE

  8. We want to get married without a ceremony, do you do that? Yep, I do indeed. Legals only ceremonies are common. This can take place anywhere and you essentially just need two witnesses. Contact me for further deets!

  9. Why don’t you have pricing on this darn website? Good question, the main reason is that there are several factors I need to know in order to put a quote together for you. Eg, time, date, location, MC etc Once I have this basic info I will send the quote to you asap!

  10. Follow up question, how much should I expect to pay for a celebrant in Melbourne? Celebrants come with varying price tags, spanning from $600 to $1800. On the lower end, you might engage a newcomer or someone who conducts ceremonies as a part-time side hustle. On the upper end of this range, you'll find seasoned, full-time professionals.

  11. Do you travel anywhere? Short answer is yes, I have never said no to a wedding based on location, however there would obviously be a cost associated with having your wedding on the Nullarbore Plane.

  12. What happens if you get sick / cant make our day? A very good question. I work with a number of like minded celebrants, who provide back up, along with being a member of several associations. Having said that, I have never missed a wedding in my career (knock wood!!!)

  13. When was the last time you did stand up comedy? 2019 was the last time I did stand up, which coincidently was when I went full time as a celebrant.

  14. Are we alone in the Universe? Not sure, I just marry people.
